The hotel Rooms are very small , washrooms also very small , ac don’t cool well , Breafast doesn’t have anything for vegetarians ( except toast and cornflakes) . Rooms have a glass jar you have to fill water from the water cooler . It’s very basic Bread and b fast hotel . Pool is small .not worth the price , the good part is it’s neat and clean , kids upto age of 16 free breakfast. Extra bed charge is nominal

Novotel City Centre is well located for tourists - right beside Kok Tobe cable car station, with restaurants and a big, modern shopping centre a few blocks away. The hotel is modern, good pool & gym facilities. Breakfast had good selections. Concierge was very helpful arranging local day trips for us. We recommend this hotel

We were satisfied with our Novotel City Center stay in Almaty. It’s a smallish affair with a relatively small lobby – but that’s Novotel for you. The rest of the ground floor is the large bar and further back, the restaurant. The room is usual size, with modern built-in furnishings, with a simple desk, chrome chair, similar chrome sofa, uber-simple coffee table and night stands. We appreciated the adequate number of electrical outlets. Lighting was sufficient. They had the usual ref, safe, electric water kettle, hair dryer. Outside the room was a hot-cold water dispenser as well as a shoe polisher which we also appreciated. The T&B had a unique door feature – the two sides of the T&B door folded outside and flat to the wall; to close the T&B, you pulled the wall doors inward – brilliant! We missed pen and paper pad, there were no art on the walls, and the curtains looked and felt like awful shower curtains. We also missed having a door to the toilet area. Breakfast was great, with a very wide range of food that we only saw in Hyatt Regency at Bishkek. Impressive!

Though the location is good. The service was far below the experience expected from a star hotel. The staff don't even respond when you wish them sometimes. The expectation is that they wish every guest though! The staff needs to be trained and motivated to serve guests properly. Doesn't meet the expectations. it's not value for money. The rooms are too small and highly-priced.

Not for American travelers

Not for North American travelers. Electric outlets only had European styles, very small TV screens with CNN showing sports racing all day, no English news channels, paid $150 per day and I felt as if I stayed in an upscale motel, not a 4 star hotel. The lounge was also very small. Small refrigerator was not cold at all. Breakfast was good. Service was good.
